Vincent Park 40th Celebrations come to an end

Vincent Park's 40^th celebrations came to an end on Saturday 29 October! It came in the form of a SUPER SUPER SATURDAY. Algoa FM held an outside broadcast in the foodcourt from 9-12am. Lance Du Plessis (Algoa fm DJ) was broadcasting the Algoa FM top 30 Live from Vincent Park Centre.

Lots of prizes and giveaways were up for grabs. There was a live draw for the 40th celebration 40 days competition that had been running throughout the 40 days of celebrations - 2 prizes of a gift card to the value of R20 000 and a trip to either Bazaruto or Zanzibar.

Smurfs visit Vincent Park

On 6 Oct 2011, the SUMRFS visited Vincent Park. Kids got a chance to meet their favourite Smurf and take pictures. Loads of FUN and laughter was had by young and old.

Cheese & Wine Celebration

As part of Vincent Park's 40th Celebration, we also honoured 2 of Vincent Park's longest standing tenants - Chez Francois & Pick n Pay. On 13 October we hosted a Cheese& Wine event in the Dome. There was a fashion & hair show as well as some high energy dancing with clothing from FIZZ, hair by Chez Francois and a collaboration with Nerina Le Roux. The evening was a great success.

Super Saturday 24 September at Vincent Park

On Saturday 24 September 2011 Vincent Park held its popular SUPER SATURDAY. The Algoa Vibe Mobile was at the Food Court and spot prizes were given away to unsuspecting shoppers. The Kids Zone was a hit, there was a Jumping Castle, face painting and even cookie decorating. Lots of Fun was had by ALL!

Vincent Park turns 40!

We kicked of celebrations for Vincent Park's 40th birthday celebrations on 20September 2011. It was a prestigious affair as dignitaries and the media were transported in a limosine to Vincent Park. Everybody gathered at the Food court as the world renowned Praise singer, Zolani Mkhiva opened the ceremony and had everybody's attention with his beautifully executed poem. The Buffalo City Mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha, took to the stage and made a touching speech, then the festivities began.

Singing sensation ZAHARA visits Vincent Park

On 30 September 2011, a few of us gathered at Music Mix as Zahara was said to be coming to Vincent Park to do a CD signing of her album - LOLIWE at 9am. An hour later we were still waiting along with a crowd of avid fans. As soon as Zahara arrived - the crowd could not contain their excitement - it was PANDAMONIUM! Fans sang along to her tunes and got a chance to take pictures with her.

Bonita from 7de Laan performs at Vincent Park

On Saturday, 10 September, Hildergardt Whites - popularly known as Bonita from 7de Laan - came to perform at Vincent Park. She was also in East London to support the Curt Warmberg / Haven Wellness Centre fundraiser banquet. Accompanied by her band - she delighted shoppers with beautiful music.

Book Launch at Vincent Park

On Friday, 9 September 2011, Vincent Park hosted a Book Launch at Exclusive Books. "You're Awesome - Living a Fulfilled Life" by Di Smith is a practical workbook of 52 lessons ( one for each week of the year) on how to change your life and in so doing, change the lives of those around you. With chapters like "Learn to be Silent", "Count your Blessings" and "Live with Honour and Respect" first time author Di Smith takes readers by the hand and helps them "to find the miracle of life and dance to your own rhythm."

Thank you to Mugg n Bean for providing a light snack for all those at the Book Launch.

Super Saturday on 27 August

On 27 August Vincent Park held its famous Super Saturday. The Algoa fm Vibe Mobile was at the Food Court providing entertainment to shoppers. The Jumping Castle was a hit with the kiddies as well as the face painting and arts& crafts. Loads of Prizes & Giveaways were up for grabs!

Womens Day at Vincent Park

On 9 August Donna Claire held a Womens Day celebration at Vincent Park in the Dome. Women were treated to a grooming workshop from Chez Francois and a Fashion Show put together by Melanie from M.O.D.E.L.S. The first 100 women received a goodie bag filled with exciting treats and products. Delicious Cofee and muffins from Mugg & Bean was served and Fun & Laughter was the order of the day.

On Saturday, 30 July, Vincent Park held a Fantastic Super Saturday. The Algoa Vibe Mobile was stationed at the Food Court. Tom's Circus kept the shoppers entertained (young & old) and the kids were treated to some face painting. There were Loads of Giveaways up for grabs.

EP Kings visit Vincent Park

Eastern Province Kings came to visits Vincent Park on 22 July 2011. They were playing with the Border Bulldogs later in the evening. Fans got a chance to meet, greet and get autographs from the players. There were loads of prizes up for grabs - rugby balls, EP Kings flags, Puma promotional items and some even got free tickets to watch the game.

Kids Activation Zone

With CARS 2, the movie, showing at Sterkinekor we decided to have a Cars2 Themed Kids Activation Zone on saturday, 9 July. The Kids Zone was from 10am - 2pm and kids could enter CARS 2 colouring - in competition where 5 winners stood a chance of winning CARS Lego sets, movie tickets, popcorn and coke vouchers. There was also a FREE face painting and animal balloons exhibit.

My Vincinity Movie Night

On Monday 27 June, a hundred My Vincinity Members who redeemed 200 points got a chance to watch a free movie and received popcorn and cooldrink. We watched the national premier of Madea's Big Happy Family at Sterkinekor.

SUPER SATURDAY at Vincent Park

Vincent Park held its 1^st Super Saturday on 11 June. The Algoa Vibe mobile was in the food court from 10:30 - 13:30. Charlton Tobias was there, interacting with the shoppers and handing out giveaways and sponsored prizes. There was also a kids activation zone in the Dome. Kids got a chance to make a wrap with Kauai and colour - in some Kung FU Panda 2 promotional items.

CANSA SHAVATHON

The annual CANSA Shavathon took place at Vincent Park on Sat, 5th March 2011 in the Dome. For a R50 donation you could get your hair sprayed or shaved, and children under 12 donated R25. Thank you to all those who supported.

Kelly Smuts and Basheer Walters of the Warriors Cricket Team came to visit Vincent Park centre on Saturday, 29th Jan 2011. Fans got the chance to meet and greet the players up and close aswell as wish them all the best for the match the following day.

SpeedStacks

The WSSA (World Sport Stacking Association) STACK UP! is a Guiness Record Breaking event hosted by WSSA and held each year as part of 'Guiness World Record Day'. This years event was held on the 18th November 2010 by Xperilab in Vincent Park Centre. Kids from all ages were incourage to try Stacking.

Buffalo City Tourism Photo Competition Prize Giving

After much anticipation, the finalists were chosen and the awards event hosted for all the finalists were held at Cafe Dulce in Vincent Park on the 2nd November 2010. Loads of prizes were handed out the overall winner announced.

A Big congratulations to Broder Scharein who won overall place in the competition. (picture taken of a surfer at Nahoon Reef). Broder won a Nikon D40 Camera sponsored from Pollocks , a R1000 Vincent Park Gift Voucher aswell as sponsored prizes from Buffalo City Tourism.
